The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented KYC Governance Analyst, AVP to join our data governance team. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in KYC production processes, has been selected to participate/lead projects as a SME, and is looking to take their career to the next level in a full-time governance role. This position requires strong analytical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, critical thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Subject Matter Expertise:

Develop a deep understanding of business unit processes and data flows, including historical context.

Acquire comprehensive knowledge of data lineage, from origination to consumption, with a focus on KYC Key Data Elements (KDEs).

Build expertise in customer KYC data processes and front-end data entry points into central systems.

Data Quality Analysis:

Perform root cause analysis of data quality issues and craft actionable remediation plans.

Own the resolution process for data quality problems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Analyze and monitor business rules for accuracy and define business requirements for rule updates or changes.

Investigate anomalies in business rules, identify root causes, and lead remediation efforts.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Collaborate with stakeholders across business units, including front-office teams, to ensure data governance standards are met.

Host cross-functional meetings to address and resolve data quality concerns.

Build and maintain strong partnerships with key leaders and teams.

Incident Management:

Track, sample, and disposition incidents in the Jira system, ensuring accurate and timely updates throughout the workflow phases.

Develop and manage sub-control metrics to monitor and improve data quality processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

  • Working knowledge of SQL for data querying and troubleshooting (preferred).

Analytical Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with an emphasis on root cause analysis and conflict resolution.

  • Attention to detail and a proactive mindset to address data quality challenges.

Communication and Leadership:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.

  • Natural leadership abilities to host and lead meetings with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong ability to work independently and drive initiatives to completion.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $82K - $127K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
