This is a hybrid position. The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites up to four days per week and work remotely the remaining day(s). A member of our Talent Acquisition team will provide more details.
The Associate Vice President (AVP) of the Operations Internal Control Unit is a vital role to ensure the completeness & accuracy of MUFG America’s operational data and processes. The primary function of the team is to provide operational oversight and ensure a separation of duties between processing and control ownership. The various controls include general ledger reconciliations, WIP Account reconciliations, Suspense Account reconciliations; reviewing, providing, correcting, and coding data; conducting root cause analysis, remediation and training; resolving rejected entries and suspended items; updating financial transaction records; reconciling settlements and adjustment entries; remediating fund-processing errors; This role will be support the ICU Director driving the system updates and changes to continually automate and improve the reconciliation processes across operations.
Individuals in the Account Reconciliation & Controls job function (Banking Operations Processing) focus on data input and output, general ledgers, and identification and remediation of discrepancies.
Responsibilities include balancing account statements; reviewing, providing, correcting, and coding data; calculating and validating batch totals; conducting root cause analysis and remediation; resolving rejected entries and suspended items; updating financial transaction records, such as accounts receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers, payroll, receipts, and accounts payable; reconciling settlements and adjustment entries; remediating fund-processing errors; certifying asset and liability general ledger accounts; reconciling outstanding account balances; and supporting vendor quality control; conducting daily, monthly and quarterly certification of general ledger balances; monitoring and reporting on exceptions; and distributing exceptions to operations processing teams.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
3+ years of Financial Services experience,
Prior experience in Operations areas related to; Commercial/Syndicated Loan, Cash Management, and/or another Middle- or Back-Office is a plus.
3+ years hands-on experience using IntelliMatch as a reconciliation tool is a must. From managing the day-to-day reconciliation process to establishing new reconciliations in accordance with Company policy.
Strong project management skills: ability to prioritize, manage, and execute multiple priorities concurrently; includes an ability to independently drive work, and pragmatically solve problems.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to motivate, train and retain talent.
A prior focus on Operational Risk & Control and/or Audit is a huge plus.
Passion for process improvement with a primary focus on risk management.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $80K - $95K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
