Job Description:
In this role, the right candidate will work under the Data Officer for Global Corporate and Investment Banking with a focus on Operations. Responsibilities include ensuring all production data risks are properly identified, mitigated (by controls), and aligned to Data Management Standards through the Risk Controls and Self-Assessment (RCSA) process. You will work closely with many different stakeholders throughout the bank therefore having strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills will be needed for this role. The right candidate will be highly motivated and should have a demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit. Intellectual curiosity, a strong work ethic, and ability to relate processes to data are important characteristics.
Responsibilities:
Provide SME guidance on data risks and controls during Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA).
Partner with and educate Business Process Owners and Division Risk Managers on data concepts including Data Governance, Data Policy, Data Quality, Metadata, Business Glossary, Lineage, Taxonomies, and Data Consumers.
Ensure all Data Risks and Data Controls align to the Chief Data Office data management (DMICF) minimum standards.
Guide Business to implement necessary controls and remediate gaps within operations business processes to comply with Data Management Policy.
Point person for ad hoc requests as the team matures and additional responsibilities develop.
Review of procedures and process maps will be expected to gain understanding.
Qualifications:
Familiarity with Data concepts including Data Governance, Data Policy, MDM, Data Quality, Metadata, Business Glossary, Lineage, Taxonomies, Data Consumers, and BCBS 239 is preferred but not required.
Experience with Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) is preferred.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
An in-depth knowledge of assigned business processes is expected to be learned over time.
Familiarity with Operations in financial services. A broad understanding of multiple processes is ideal.
Experience with commercial banking products and corporate customers is preferred.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $66K - $102K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
