The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.

We're seeking a Trade Services Operations Compliance Team Lead to oversee a First Line of Defense unit who is responsible for monitoring daily BSA/AML Red Flags, Sanctions/OFAC issues and conduct Post Processing Compliance Reviews (Quality Assurance).

The position requires a strong understanding of all international Trade Finance products and documentation including, Import, Export, and Standby Letters of Credit, and International Collections along with Trade Finance based Red Flag knowledge and Sanctions/OFAC. You will supervise staff who independently reviews Trade documentation to identify and remediate compliance issues.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the development of, including recommending and implementing, cost effective compliance strategies, policies and procedures.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance by ensuring the detection of deficiencies or violations of applicable laws and regulations.

  • Escalating suspicious activity to Second Line of Defense Compliance partners.

  • Designing and coordinating corrective action, as appropriate.

  • Implement efficient and effective compliance programs under the Compliance and Head of TSO Control and Monitoring Manager.

  • Keep up-to-date on changes in federal and state compliance laws and regulations and ensure that staff are adequately informed and procedures are updated.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of Trade Services Operations experience required.

  • Knowledge and experience in international trade and transaction workflows, sanctions and/or anti-money laundering laws and regulations and risk management.

  • Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Attention to detail; excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships across multiple departments

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • College Degree preferred but not required. Certificate or courses or any specialized training/exposure in International Trade, Trade and Commodity Financing/Project Finance is a plus.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $81K - $106K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
