Job Summary:

The Business Systems Analyst AVP will join a growing team in the Phoenix area and will report to the Business Unit Controller, within the Controllers & Tax Services (CTS) group. CTS reports to the CFO.

You will be focused primarily on accounting and systems processes, but will also be responsible for communicating across the controllership team as an advisor for new products (including new product features and services implementation).

You will apply a specific knowledge of the business combined with knowledge of the systems technology capabilities to act as the subject matter expert with the primary objective of meeting the requirements of the business unit supporting new products and initiatives. Lead meetings with users to define and evaluate business challenges, which may be resolved through data processing systems. Analyze detailed business requirements, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements.

You will build relationships with mentors and other colleagues within CTS. Internal business line partners regard AVPs as vital resources for decision-making and conveying process-level knowledge of assigned processes. In time, AVPs will enjoy opportunities to explore other roles and build a broad knowledge of many different products and businesses.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support the CTS team’s involvement in projects (e.g., systems upgrades, new reporting requirements, etc.) to ensure accurate accounting and reporting

  • Lead the development of user test plans and perform and document testing for all new products, system implementations and upgrades, addition of acquired loans, and any changes in accounting policy to ensure accuracy of data that is used for financial and regulatory reporting

  • Accountable for the accuracy of accounting and financial reporting derived from the consumer lending loan portfolio

  • Act as lead technical resource and subject matter expert for financial and regulatory reporting needs related to the consumer lending loan portfolio

  • Promote understanding of data from consumer lending systems to downstream data users

  • Solve problems by applying specific knowledge of the business needs combined with knowledge of the systems technology capabilities with the primary objective being to meet the information needs of the business unit

  • Develop process enhancement recommendations, and updates to policies and procedures



  • Education: Accounting degree (BA, BS, and/or Masters)

  • CPAs (or CPA-eligible) preferred, but not required

  • Experience: 4 or more years, which may include accounting and/or financial services

  • Systems testing experience

  • Knowledge of loan accounting and loan servicing systems

  • Financial and regulatory reporting experience

  • Internal control frameworks

  • Prior experience using Microsoft Office products including Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint
