Manage Operations Initiatives for ACH and EDI Support Processes.

This leader will leverage their Payment Operations experience to support and enhance the ACH/EDI Operations Initiatives department and the management of multiple related projects impacting ACH/EDI Operations technology. This VP will work closely with Product, Risk, Information Technology Development/Support teams, project teams, ACH Operations, ACH Governance and other related functions to enhance processes, technology, procedures and documentation in support of the expansion of the ACH and EDI Transmissions products for the Bank.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee the Operations Initiatives function, which supports the onboarding, testing and maintenance of ACH and EDI Transmission services for Bank commercial clients, ensuring appropriate staffing and work is assigned and all processing deadlines/service levels are consistently met.

  • Engaging with cross functional partners to drive efficiencies, streamline processes and implement automation related to client onboarding, testing and maintenance for ACH and EDI Transmission setups.

  • Role is balanced between day-to-day operational execution, management, optimization, development of the strategic direction of the functional area, and managing projects for the ACH/EDI Operations department.

  • Developing, implementing and monitoring quality service standards and delivery times with clients and support units that align with target productivity levels and department goals. Provide regular reporting to senior management.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of - and sensitivity to - the current regulatory environment impacting ACH and EDI Transmission services, including NACHA Rules and data protection/integrity practices.

  • Adhere to the Bank's Risk Vision, and risk management policies and programs; recognize and proactively address risk as new projects are implemented (including the adaptation of new technologies to the department).

  • Communicate and collaborate with product owners, implementation teams, technology teams, bank operations and other parts of the Bank. Effectively liaise with internal business partners, including Internal/External Audit, Risk and Compliance as needed.

  • Overseeing, monitoring, revising and implementing policy, procedural and risk management control changes that affect functional areas of responsibilities. Promoting a high degree of awareness of risk management principles among all unit staff members.

  • Managing and maintaining qualified staff by selecting, training, counseling, evaluating, rewarding, and recommending promotion of subordinates.

  • Collaborating with ACH Operations leadership to coordinate support for daily ACH Operations execution to meet all processing deadlines, service levels and risk management objectives.

Role Attributes:

  • In conjunction with senior management, develops, recommends and executes business plans for area of responsibility.

  • Keeps abreast of new technologies and applications and their implications for assigned area.

  • Has overall responsibility for a department and function within the Operations function, including the design of relevant processes and concrete action plans.

  • Has a high degree of autonomy in making operational decisions.

  • Seasoned functional and People manager with extensive payments knowledge and expertise is an asset. Role is balanced between day-to-day operational execution and development of the strategic direction of the functional area.

  • Familiarity with NACHA Rules and EDI File Transmission protocols is an asset.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or demonstrated relevant work experience (5+ years).

  • Experienced in managing financial services Payment Operations and related control and risk management concepts.

  • Demonstrated ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and all levels.

  • Experience in leading, managing, motivating and coaching teams involved in creating solutions and improving services.

  • Proven track record of influencing and collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to effectively communicate related policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Excellent vision projecting, planning and communication skills.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $102k– $135K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location.
