Job Overview:

The opportunity is for an experienced and delivery-focused individual to support and work with the Chief Information Officer for MUSA in liaising the various entities for regulatory matters, prioritizing the technology portfolio, collaborating with business and enterprise partners, communicating with executives and across entities, driving delivery strategy and transformation, and managing technology cost.

With your deep expertise as well as analytical thinking and iterative problem solving, you are an experienced trusted advisor who can set strategy and execute. You can comfortably manage a portfolio of complex programs and processes; contribute to leadership discussions on strategy, budget, and talent; and make sound decisions that drive successful outcomes for the company. Responsibilities:

  • Specific to this role, your mandate will be broad to deliver on the following key areas, among other general business management and chief-of-staff type responsibilities:

  • Definition of multi-year strategic objectives, metrics and goals-setting, and tracking/reporting for executive scorecards.

  • Proactive identification of and delivery against efficiency opportunities.

  • Curation and execution of metrics and tracking (e.g., strategic, monthly/quarterly executive scorecard, daily flash reports, etc.).

  • Oversight for reporting and packaging for Executive, Regulatory, and/or Board materials

  • Management of governance routines for ITA, including preparing for and running Forums and Management Committees.

  • Assist CIO as right-hand to deliver against programmatic, strategic, or risk/regulatory initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years working in leadership positions within Financial Services (more specifically in Corporate & Investment Banking) at global institution, and minimum 10 years in a managerial position within Technology (both in strategic and execution roles) with fiscal responsibility for large programs or departments

  • Deeper, direct experience in dealing with risk/issue management and regulatory agencies - ideally in Financial Services

  • Strong enthusiasm relating to Digital Transformation technologies and technological reform.

  • Ownership over creating and presenting Board-level materials, delivering governance/reporting across a corporate function, and running chartered forums and committees

  • Solid history of academic and professional achievement

  • Experience translating enterprise strategic imperatives to multi-year strategic plans for a technology organization and defining appropriate metrics and milestone goals to achieve these objectives. Embody a strategic approach to delivery, with the ability to articulate and implement vision/strategy.

  • Strong general manager with ability to prioritize, plan, and execute business initiatives, related metrics and reporting, resources, governance, and routines to enable improved business performance.

  • Foundational background in technology and business roles to understand and debate/challenge alignment of demand from both business and technology stakeholders to organization goals and help set priorities.

  • Must have strong business and financial acumen and be comfortable dealing with complex financial analysis and concepts. Intellectually sharp, capable, and agile. A problem-solver who relies on facts and data to drive decisions.

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize data to continually identify opportunities for improvement, solutions, and execute.

  • Strong management skills, excellent communication skills, both oral & written, and ability to interact with all levels of management.

  • Demonstrated track record of delivering positive results in project work within the technology function of an organization, including high quality implementations within timeframe and budgetary constraints

  • Good consensus-builder; able to drive large scale initiatives across multiple stakeholder groups, work through obstacles and remove barriers.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and diverse projects including analytical thinking, planning, prioritizing, problem solving, decision making and managing programs that impact the entire organization.

  • Effective conflict management with ability to de-escalate disagreements and orchestrate resolutions.

  • Expert communicator to build and manage relationships across relevant stakeholders, including global executives and senior constituents.

  • Resilient under pressure and self-motivated in a fast paced and demanding environment

Education:

Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or Operations or Business / Management or Finance related fields. Equivalent work experience equally preferable.

Other Qualifications:

  • As per MUFG’s Return to Office policy , must work onsite for 4 days and 1 day remotely out of either 1251 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY (Preferred), Jersey City, NJ (2nd Choice), Tampa, FL (3rd Choice), OR Tempe, AZ (4th Choice) office.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $200K - $250K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
