The Capital Planning Analyst, AVP will be part of the Capital Management & Resolution Planning team. The individual will be responsible for managing workstreams to prepare documentation for the supervisory-mandated Comprehensive Capital Analysis & Review (CCAR), Dodd-Frank Act Stress Test (DFAST) and Resolution Plan (RP) regulatory submissions. The team is responsible for the end-to-end documentation production for the Annual Capital Plan and Resolution Plan, from planning report content and timeline, up until finalization and submission to the regulators. Additionally, the individual will support internal reporting that is required for capital management and capital adequacy processes. Duties will include partnering with stakeholders on documentation content, providing drafting support to subject matter experts (SMEs), and coordinating responses to regulatory examinations, all while applying knowledge of regulatory rules and regulations. The team has great visibility to senior management as its work product is regularly used in discussions with management-level governance committees, Board of Directors and supervisory authorities.
Major Responsibilities Include:
Develop an understanding of CCAR, DFAST and RP regulatory requirements and processes
Support internal management reporting for capital management and capital adequacy processes, including quarterly Capital Adequacy Process (CAP) reports
Facilitate relationships with Lines of Business, Finance, and Risk Management functions across the company to prepare and timely deliver various reporting
Own and drive workstreams within the enterprise-wide stress testing and resolution planning production processes by partnering with SMEs to compile narrative content and integrate financial projection data
Manage end-to-end development of Annual Capital Plan’s accompanying methodology narratives related to Pre-Provision Net Revenue (balance sheet and related net interest income; noninterest revenue; and noninterest expense)
Prepare Annual Capital Plan and Resolution Plan for governance committee approvals by performing quality control review of narrative content and data interface
Understand forecasting processes, key assumptions and model inputs/outputs and how they tie into capital planning
Understand material entities, core business lines, critical operations and operational interconnectedness considerations in resolution
Prepare for regulatory examinations by collaborating with SMEs to draft responses and collect relevant supporting documentation
Liaise with second line and third line to support risk and controls assessment updates and documentation requests
Develop presentation materials for senior management and provide analytical support on ad hoc business initiatives
B.A. / B.S. degree in Finance, Business or Accounting or a related field
4 years of experience in finance and/or banking industry is strongly preferred
Possess solid knowledge and insight to banking industry’s regulatory reporting rules and regulations
Work effectively in a team environment to meet tight filing deadlines
Must be a self-starter and able to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment and successfully manage multiple competing priorities
Excellent writing and grammar skills are essential
Strong verbal and inter-personal skills and ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with various levels of management
Demonstrate ownership and a collaborative attitude to build cross-functional partnerships
Proficient in the use of MS Office suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience with Wdesk platform and/or Office 365 a plus
