We're seeking a Credit Associate to develop the skills and experience necessary to begin a successful career in Commercial Lending at Union Bank. The position is geared towards recent college undergraduate students interested in Commercial Banking work opportunities. You will work in the Commercial Credit Services Group (CCSG) based in Irvine, CA. The CCSG is a high-volume loan underwriting and loan management group that emphasizes individual initiative, teamwork, and progressive levels of responsibility and compensation. If you successfully demonstrate strong performance, analytical ability, strong written/verbal communication skills, teamwork and successfully complete several required Union Bank classes, you become eligible for progressive career opportunities through the Bank's Commercial Credit Training Program. On average, the Credit Associate works for the Irvine CCSG for about 24 months. Responsibilities: + Demonstrate an understanding of Bank credit policies and underwriting guidelines interpreting Corporate/Individual financial statements. + Prepare spreadsheets to reflect the Bank's credit and underwriting policies. + Provide written analysis of financial statement performance and trends that might impact the risk management process. Qualifications Qualifications: The right candidate will have: + Interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills + Excellent organization, time management, and attention-to-detail abilities + Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel + Bachelor's Degree (preferably in a business-related major, Economics, Finance, etc.) with minimum GPA of 3.0 The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed.
