In this role you will focus on a broad range of domains, including network, systems, and storage technologies, emphasizing modern infrastructure and technology principles present in cloud-native architectures. Responsibilities include collaborating with the lines of busines, other architects as well as engineers and global affilate partners to develop technical and operational architecture roadmaps to meet strategic requirements; writing functional and maintainable code in Python, Go, and/or Java; and working on large-scale platforms that may have a global footprint and multiple vendors. The Cloud Infrastructure Architect works to define an extremely complex domain of data and access patterns. The right candidate will have a track record of leading teams and delivering highly complex architectures focused on muliple cloud platforms and technologies.


  • In this role you will focus on the strategic roadmap for the management, design, installation, operation, and maintenance of the cloud infrastructure supporting MUFG as well as its supporting on-premise technology.

  • This role will drive and engage in all activities of server, storage, network, endpoint, and other technologies needed for modern, efficient, effective technology success.

  • They will provide technical expertise related to designing, implementing, and supporting information technology solutions in current and a continuous improvement environment.

  • This role includes architecting, building and maintaining infrastructure, understanding security considerations, and delivering highly available and scalable services.

  • The ideal candidate will implement best practices with best in class solutions to ensure robust cloud infrastructure solutions that meets dynamic business needs and requirements.


  • Experience programming in Java, Python, or an equivalent object-oriented programming (OOP) language

  • Experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud technologies such as Relational Database Service (RDS), DynamoDB, and simple storage service (S3)

  • Experience in Microsoft Azure SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS cloud technologies

  • Experience with open source big data software like Kafka, Spark, Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), Flink, Cassandra, Druid, Ignite, etc.

  • Successful track record of democratizing proper data modeling and governance in a large organization

  • Successful implementation of a large data platform over multiple years involving multiple domains and stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to find the optimal level of abstraction to balance flexibility and comprehension

  • Deep experience in dimensional and 3NF data model design

  • Application Programming Interface (API) design using OpenAPI and AsyncAPI

  • Experience modeling data structures for document, column family, and graph databases

  • Web server and application server administration and web applications deployment experience

  • Web Tech experience (PAN)

  • Architecture certification (The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), Centre for Information Technology and Architecture (CITA), Enterprise Architecture Center of Excellence (EACOE), Certified Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Architect, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Cisco network and technologies, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA(P)), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Linux, and Unix

  • Financial services industry experience

  • Experience in developing high volume transaction processing solutions that can be scaled

  • Experience with software development, cloud computing services and infrastructure application development platforms, and contemporary programming languages work, systems, or design

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
