Job Summary:

The HR Generalist Professional will fulfill a critical role working in tandem with the HRBP team supporting the Corporate and Investment Bank (including Japanese Corporate Banking), Transaction Banking and our Corporate Functions (Risk, Finance, Legal, Chief of Staff and Chief Corporate Administrative Office). The role will be responsible for supporting activities requested by the HRBP team with a heavy emphasis on reporting and presentation preparation. This role relies on HR and business knowledge, the ability to dissect complex issues and tasks, project management skills and multi-task across a high volume of assignments. Over time, career progression may include HRBP coverage for a segment of the business or a role in other disciplines within HR or the Company.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support the HRBP team as they contribute to the business strategy by assisting in supporting business leaders as they identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes. Create and maintain documentation and reporting associated with this support.

  • Develop thorough understanding of HR policies and procedures.

  • Cultivate relationships with and understanding of HR Centers of Excellence (COE) responsibilities and processes.

  • Act as a liaison between managers and employees by connecting them to appropriate HR COEs. Provide a bridge to the COE and assist where necessary to ensure task completion.

  • Work on projects and initiatives aligned with the HR strategic agenda.

  • Create and present complex ad hoc data analyses, reports and presentations, as appropriate to the area of expertise; identify errors and deficiencies and make process improvement recommendations.

  • Improve human capital analytics and reporting to more proactively inform the leaders on trends and areas of opportunity in their respective discipline.

  • Identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Organize and maintain centralized nominations for training and development opportunities.

  • Conduct exit interviews for departing Key Talent

  • Think strategically about solutions and improvements.

  • Ensure compliance with bank, state and federal guidelines.


This position typically requires:

  • One plus years of experience in HR preferably in financial services

  • Research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint. Knowledge of an HRIS system, particularly Workday, preferred.

  • Accuracy and attention to detail required.

  • Ability to manage projects from start to finish.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and service-oriented skills.

  • Effective team player.

  • Capacity to work in a fluid environment, at times with competing priorities.

  • Ability to negotiate and influence others.

  • Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.

  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
