Job Summary

In this role, you will focus on the creation and compilation of reports from other functions enterprise wide. Responsibilities include ingesting, arranging, and/or illustrating data, testing for accuracy, data analytics and publishing reports to support internal compliance or audit requirements as well as external stakeholders like regulators, customers, consultants, and other third parties.

Major Responsibilities

Responsible for creation/production of the report with full understanding the report requirements

  • 70% - Preparation of assigned financial regulatory reports that are due to several agencies. Conduct investigations of errors and variance analysis independently. Recommend procedural changes to address problems and to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of reporting.

  • 20% - Assist with the research and analysis of regulatory pronouncements, reporting requirements and other accounting documents. Supports continuous enhancement of our internal controls over regulatory reporting including robust analytical procedures and detective controls.

  • 10% Respond to internal/external inquiries regarding financial data reported or filed. Assist with the Finance Transformation Project and other Bank wide initiatives. Perform other projects or duties as assigned.

  • Ability to build/maintain relationships with various partners including data providers, change management, technology teams etc.

  • Recommend procedural enhancements and identify controls for continuous improvement of the reporting process.

  • Prepare work papers, documentation, procedures, manuals, workflows, and training materials.

  • Able to improve the production process.

  • Ensure desktop procedures for the processes conducted within the RSS (Reporting Shared Services) Regulatory Reporting process are maintained current, accurate and, at the level of detail expected by the regulator.

  • Ensure strong internal control environment is maintained in accordance with department procedures and bank policies.

  • Production Background as follows would be the expected Responsible for production of financial regulatory reports, such as FR Y-7N and FR Y-7Q reports including the requisite processes and controls. Utilizing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to perform analytical procedures for reporting focused on evaluating trends to be in line with expectations and providing variance explanations for anomalies in fluctuations.

  • Providing analytical support as it relates to data collection and submissions and data management including data analysis, extraction, management, and analysis from multiple sources utilizing analytic tools.

  • Researching and implementing new/revised regulatory reporting requirements and communicating the reporting and regulatory data requirements to business partners.

  • Supporting the execution on selected process enhancements and remediation of management-identified issues, including liaising with IT groups.

Secondary responsibilities

  • Research and analyze regulatory reporting requirements and other accounting documents and stay abreast of changes in collaboration with the Regulatory Reporting Policy team.

  • Collaborate as a regulatory reporting subject matter expert with Regulatory Reporting teams to assess the impact and review the implementation for regulatory reporting of regulatory/accounting changes, new products, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, or enhancement of existing processes.

  • Ensure significant changes and issues are documented clearly and escalated in accordance with bank policy and procedures.

  • Maintain strong communication with the CTS report content team, Business Unit Controllers and other subject matter experts and data providers to ensure reporting requirements are clearly understood.

  • Respond to internal / external inquiries regarding financial data reported or filed.

  • Participate in the Risk Control Self-Assessment for assigned regulatory filings to identify and rate risks and mitigating controls.

  • Support reviews and examinations by internal and external parties, including regulatory examinations, internal audits, compliance testing, and testing by Controls Assurance and Advisory, Quality Assurance teams and others

  • Perform other projects or duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Strong accounting and financial reporting experience (in banking/financial industry experience a major plus)

  • Accounting or finance degree is highly preferred

  • CPA or Chartered Accountant, or equivalent, is strongly preferred

  • 5-6 years' related experience, ideally within financial services or technology industries

  • 3+ years' experience preparing regulatory reports

  • 3+ years’ experience in data analytics and visualization

  • Strong, current understanding of banking regulatory reporting rules and regulations

  • Proficient with MS 365 Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience in any of the following Python/R/SQL/ Alteryx a plus

  • Experience in Tableau/Power BI visualization analytics (desktop and cloud versions)

  • Regulatory Production/Implementation experience

  • Demonstrate advanced experience with analytical tools used in regulatory reporting

  • Experience with Adenza AxiomSL and WDesk a plus

The typical base pay range for this role is between $105K - $134K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
