Senior Solutions Engineer (Java J2EE), Assistant Vice President
As Part of the Transaction Banking Technology organization, the Senior Solutions Engineer will Participate in Technical discussions with different applications that have impact for RTP project. Design and develop solutions using Java/J2EE, Informatica ETL, Oracle PL/SQL, and scripting languages including Unix shell scripting. Work closely with business analysts, developers to understand requirements and create Functional Design Documents, Detailed Design Documents, Data Sourcing Documents and Unit Test Plans. The Engineer will also work with Production Support to diagnose and remediate production issues.
The Engineer will work closely with geographically disbursed stakeholders across a variety of businesses and functions. The Engineer must be experienced in various Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile, and have a solid understanding of technology and data.
Work with the IT lead to coordinate development, testing, and implementation phases ensuring that all deliverables meet expectations.
Engage with multiple internal technology teams including infrastructure, middleware, network/system admin, enterprise security to design and develop solutions
Provide significant input for the creation of technology related project documents including functional and detailed design documents ensuring that the design meets requirements and is detailed enough to provide to development teams.
Coordination with other infrastructure team members for the standing up and preparation of the servers/applications involved in running the solution being implemented
Subject matter expert in providing and developing the design and required configurations for the application being developed
Provide required application support during system failures. Co-ordinate with L1/L2 support teams. Ability to debug complex technical issues and provide remediation.
Design, Develop, implement and support data processing environments using Java/J2EE, Informatica ETL, Oracle PL/SQL, and scripting languages
Create Functional Requirements Documents, Detailed Design Documents, Data Sourcing Documents and Unit Test Plans
Diagnose production issues, design and create remediation, and work with Production Support to test and deploy fixes
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required.
7 years of development experience with emphasis in Java, J2EE, database technologies (DB2 and Oracle), shell scripting, WAS/JBoss, and Spring
3-5 years’ experience implementing technology solutions at large banks or financial institutions
Understanding of Transaction Banking experience in Wires, FX, ACH, RTP
Ability to be flexible, decision oriented, and motivated. Ability to approach strategic decisions in a consultative manner with a particular emphasis on delivery.
Requires an in-depth knowledge of the system development life cycle, and application program development alternatives.
Experience writing Functional Requirements Documents and Detailed Design Documents
Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities
