Job Summary:

The Cloud Architect will lead the bank's enterprise-wide cloud strategy and cloud security initiatives. This role requires a multifaceted expert with a proven track record in architecting, implementing, and securing large-scale cloud solutions within highly regulated environments. The ideal candidate requires technical expertise in both cloud architecture, security and leadership skills to drive our cloud smart approach. They will be responsible for maturing a comprehensive cloud adoption approach that aligns with business objectives, ensures regulatory compliance, leverages best-of-class technologies while maintaining high standards of security to protect our assets and customer data.

Responsibilities:

  • Mature the architecture and oversee the implementation of a secure, scalable, and cost-effective multi-cloud ecosystem

  • Design and oversee implementation of effective cloud security measures, including identity and access management, data protection, and threat detection

  • Collaborate with executives to align cloud and security initiatives with overall business strategy

  • Drive innovation by identifying and integrating emerging cloud technologies and security solutions

  • Ensure compliance with stringent financial industry regulations and security standards in cloud environments

  • Act as the key liaison between IT, security, business units, and cloud service providers

  • Develop and implement comprehensive cloud security policies, procedures, and incident response plans

  • Develop and maintain the bank's cloud architecture roadmap, strategy, and security framework

  • Provide executive-level reporting on cloud architecture, security posture, and risk management

  • Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and compliant cloud solutions

  • Oversee the development and execution of cloud security policies, standards, and best practices

  • Ensure compliance with financial industry regulations and security standards in cloud environments

  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, security threats, and industry trends.

Required Experience:

  • Extensive experience in cloud services such as AWS, Azure and Oracle Cloud

  • Extensive Experience in designing and implementing scalable and secure cloud solutions

  • Strong experience with OpenShift, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting; solid understanding of containerization and Kubernetes

  • Extensive experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates

  • Extensive design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed systems or enterprise applications

  • History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large-scale customers or enterprises

  • Deep experience in one or more of the following areas: software design or development, infrastructure architecture, storage technology, content distribution, database architecture, IP networking, IT security, troubleshooting, performance tuning, systems operations

  • Extensive experience guiding architectural decisions for enterprise applications

  • Extensive experience creating diagrams and written summaries to clarify complex enterprise-level technology solution designs for business, technology, and executive stakeholders

  • Experience managing large or multiple technology development efforts within a major line of business

  • Experience developing roadmaps to sequence delivery of a target state architecture through prioritized phases

  • Experience engineering, running projects and delivering on them, executing on roadmaps, and maintaining strong relationships with solution vendors

  • Significant hands-on cloud solution architecture experience

  • Extensive experience in enterprise, application, and/or information architecture preferred

  • Ability to present information to wide variety of audiences, including senior leadership

  • Communicates effectively

  • Anticipates changing business needs, adjusts priorities accordingly, and allocates necessary resources and budget to achieve objectives

  • Equips the business to become an effective competitor in a highly dynamic landscape

  • Considers stakeholder needs and input as well as best practices and insights from industry trends when making strategic decisions

Education & Certifications:

  • Degree or equivalent work experience equally preferable.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related discipline

Other Qualifications:

  • As per MUFG’s work policy, must work onsite 4 days and 1 day remotely out of either our New York, NY, Jersey City, NJ, Tampa, FL, or Tempe, AZ office.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $150K - $180K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonuses and/or incentive compensation.
