Job Summary:

The main function of this role is to assist the QA Team in its reviews and analyses of complex credit actions for a range of factors in assessment areas.

Reviews and analyses of complex credit actions for a range of factors in assessment areas listed below:

  • TTM rapid rating deterioration (Pass to non-Pass)

  • Regulatory rating assessment/conclusions • Internal rating (BR/ASR, etc.) assessment/conclusions

  • Timeliness of Reviews

  • Internal vs. Regulatory Ratings

  • Regulatory Leverage Assessment

  • SLoD Effective Challenge (evidence/quality)

  • Appropriate Exercise of Delegated Approval Authority

  • Standards, Procedures, and MAUG Exceptions

  • Application Content Completeness

  • Ad Hoc as recommended by QA team, senior management, or CRC

Assessment Preparation and Review:

  • Gather and prepare data for evaluation and trend identification through on-going and risk-based monitoring of credit actions.

  • Conduct portions of individual credit assessments for review and finalization by team members.

  • Develop and/or work with team members to develop and review samples for assessment.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:

  • Document results of monitoring and assist in the compilation of periodic risk assessments of assigned credit actions or portfolio reviews.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Assist in communication with impacted stakeholders regarding assessments. Prepare report content for inclusion in QA Team presentations to governance bodies and impacted business units.

  • Maintain effective working relationships with QA Team members and stakeholders in its processes. May work in a team environment for special assignments as part of CARM, Credit Planning and Credit Standards.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office product suite

  • Familiarity with MUFG systems including GCARS, MCC and LVL

Experience and Abilities:

  • Experience in or knowledge of credit risk, risk rating (internal and regulatory), credit standards and procedures application, credit/financial statement analysis, all based on a solid understanding of business and financial markets and the effects of economic conditions on the Bank’s risk assets.

  • Ability to assist in the analysis of portfolio trends, identification of signs of changing risk levels and/or symptoms of process control breakdowns.

  • Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of processes related to areas assessed.

Education and Training:

  • A BA or BS degree preferred with 3+ years credit / lending / examination or related experience

Working Conditions:

  • 4 days a week in office, 1 day from home
