Customer Statements-Custodian Analyst
Job Summary :
This analyst position will mainly reside in the Statements unit especially January through June during seasonal activity (January and April being the busy months where time off is limited). In general, Client’s dealing with MUFG Bank., Ltd. are audited by a third party and that their party requires an independent statement delivered from MUFG. The Statement team is responsible for sending these ad hoc statements. This Analyst position will be focused on mainly Agented type transitions, other type products, such as loans, deposits and derivatives, customer inquiries as well as support the streamlining of new reporting. This position will be the second in line with this unit of 5, not including 4 vendor supporting staff. This position will also partner with our Data Custodian team, where understanding and quality checking will be required and at times, perform certifications. This team validates key data elements (KDE) that effect liquidity and regulatory reporting. Although most of the Statements and Custodian process is outsourced, this position will bridge the gap for more complex questions and support the onshore team.
Major Responsibilities :
Support the balance confirmation mailbox by performing the statement send process, logging and/or delegating Agented and other type confirmations. Partner with unit lead to support where and when necessary.
Train and educate team on complex requests.
Close gaps on communication delays by quickly understanding the client’s ask and knowing the lines of business for product support which applicable. Support team with this understanding.
Review the accuracy of KDE Certification templates as submitted by Offshore Data Custodians for both MUBK and MUB and at high volume times support with certifications.
Assist in identifying improvements and streamlining the processes for both Statements and Custodian. Lead report changes leveraging the systems division.
Work with management, quality teams and lines of business to support trends and issues that arise. Building relationships where broken or unclear.
Assist when applicable to perform Audit of Post Boarding from MUB and MUBK Post Boarding team, including review and support failed KDE reviews.
Skills & Experience :
Minimum of 4 years with Loan Operations experience and/or Documentation/Administration experience. Specific to Syndicated/Agented trading.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
PC skills are required, especially Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently with little oversite
