Financial Crimes Office for Asia [FCOA] – Singapore Financial Crime[SGFC]

Overview of the Department:

The Financial Crimes Office for Asia (FCOA) is part of the Global Financial Crimes Division (GFCD) headquartered in New York. It works to ensure that our organisation conducts its business such that we protect our reputation, our business, and our clients within the regulatory and legal framework. It is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of effective systems and controls to protect clients’ assets and to mitigate the risk that MUFG might be used to further financial crime.

Job responsibilities:

  • To perform due diligence on (1) 2nd level transactions sanctions screening and (2) 2nd level sanctions name screening escalated from APAC COE in accordance to the steps, timeframes, and prioritization set out in procedures in a complete, accurate and timely manner.

  • To provide sanctions advice to relevant stakeholders (including providing updates to FLoD on the escalated sanctions-related cases in relation to transactions and name screening alerts)

  • Assist SGFC Sanctions Lead to manage and oversee day-to-day activities to ensure smooth running of Business-As-Usual ("BAU") activities as well as any other assignments in SGFC-Sanctions

  • To support SGFC Sanctions Lead in sanctions compliance program management (Audit, Sanctions List Management, Issues Management, Quality Assurance, Quarterly Financial Crime Compliance Monitoring)

Job requirements:

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in Financial Institution.

  • Strong knowledge of local and other applicable sanctions regulatory requirements and industry best practices

  • A team player and an organized individual who able to multi-task to meet and deliver within Service Level Agreements/ stipulated timelines

  • Possess prior exposure related to Financial Crime or in related field of sanctions screening

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with various stakeholders

  • Adaptability to contribute to multiple tasks with different scopes at the same time

  • Experience in advisory on payments, trade finance transactions, CDD/ KYC reviews, product reviews, risk assessment, training, policies/ procedures, etc. is a plus

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
