Job Responsibilities:

  • Establish configuration standard and design guideline for UNIX and system software, covering availability, performance, resilience, monitoring, backup and recovery functional areas.

  • Provide technical assistance to development team and operation teams.

  • Good in writing scripts using perl, bash and python.

  • Understanding of various development, testing and deployment tools - GIT/GITHUB, ANSIBLE,

  • Troubleshoot and drive system recovery. Escalate problems with actual or potential major impact to problem management. Perform root cause analysis and ensure planned actions are carried out to prevent recurrence. Must be proactive and possess a sense of urgency during service recovery

  • Ensure the supportability of the OS and system software. Plan and lead upgrade projects.

  • Review and approve change requests. Supervise execution for major change

  • Conduct performance analysis and tuning

  • Automate system operation

  • Track and drive patch management for all OS software. Track, plan and drive software upgrades to ensure continuous supportability.

  • Establish adequate monitoring to ensure efficient and reliable service delivery

  • Apply new technology and process to improve system supportability, recoverability, availability and performance.

  • Provide operational excellence and skills on OS and system software to support various project phases (requirement gathering, design, procurement, implementation and hand-over to operations).

  • Support audit and compliance activities.

  • Conduct capacity planning and performance management.

  • Good knowledge on handling Middleware products (WAS/Weblogic/WMQ/IIB)

  • Good Knowledge on DB2 and Oracle Databases.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of Linux (Redhat) administration experience in an enterprise level environment.

  • Experience in managing a team of Unix and Middleware engineer.

  • Experience in RedHat Clustering.

  • Must have experience in HCI and VMware server provisioning and administration.

  • Possess good technical knowledge of Linux hardware, operating system and system services (volume manager, file system, NTP, DNS, PCS, SSH etc).

  • Familiar with the usage and installation of applications in Redhat Linux systems.

  • Have hands-on experience in a REDHAT Satellite server.

  • Regularly monitor and maintain a log of the critical services, performance of servers including monitoring of CPU, disk space, memory utilization.

  • Strong knowledge on writing shell scripts and Ansible for automation.

  • Ability to troubleshoot system level issues related to OS.

  • Engage with vendor to get break-fix solutions on hardware/software when needed.
