Summary:

To support the management of Compliance Office for Asia (ACO) and Financial Crime Office for Asia (FCOA). Lead the Planning team to provide necessary governance and support for ACO and FCOA management such as budget and headcount control, system investment planning coordination, BCP coordination, and PMO support for key global/regional initiatives such as for global efficiency and standardization. Also, Support Head of Planning Department to develop and deliver organization strategy through providing necessary assessment and materials as well as coordinating communication with key stakeholders both in Head Office and Region for smooth and effective implementation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Planning team to provide necessary governance and support for ACO and FCOA management such as budget and headcount control, system investment planning coordination, BCP arrangement, and PMO support for key global/regional initiatives such as for global efficiency and standardization.

  • Support Head of Planning, Governance, and Reg Affairs Department to develop and deliver organization strategy through providing necessary assessment and materials as well as coordinating communication with key stakeholders both in Head Office and Region for smooth and effective implementation.

  • Manage ACO / FCOA budgets including branch compliance properly to ensure expense stays within approved budget via close monitoring and guidance.

  • Ensure proper budget/cost allocation in and between relevant business units/regions/branches from managerial accounting perspective as well as tax perspective.

  • Liaise and communicate with key stakeholders in Head offices and APAC region including branches to provide or coordinate necessary support for global/regional initiatives.

  • Work in partnership with ACO/FCOA staff and provide guidance from governance perspective

  • Manage and develop staff in planning team for proactive support and taking up larger role

  • Lead, drive and support regional and/or global projects and initiatives and take on additional responsibilities as required by the Regional Chief Compliance Officer for APAC.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a global financial institution

  • Experience with global banking business, including industry trends and key challenges in Compliance.

  • Minimum JLPT N1 certification, degree from a Japanese university, or equivalent qualification is required to effectively liaise with Japanese counterparts in the Tokyo Office on reporting and consultation matters.

  • Knowledge in Financials/Accounting/Managerial accounting for budget management and governance.

  • Prior working experience in compliance related roles will be preferrable

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, including collaborating with compliance colleagues in ACO/FCOA (Region) and in GCD/GFCD (Head Office) to support delivery of compliance function with excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills to build partnership across the MUFG network.

  • Ability to think strategically to develop and lead initiatives contributing to the short and long term in the region and globally with excellent analytical skills and demonstrable ability to make sound judgment based on imperfect information.
