Purpose of the Job

This position sits within the Regional Business Development Department ("RBDD”) based in Singapore in the Global Corporate and Investment Banking, Asia Pacific. We are looking for a highly motivated personnel with strong leadership to be able to support Head of Department as their deputy. The role requires supporting the business across 11 countries within APAC.

Job Description

  • Implementing and penetrating GCIB APAC direction/strategy and gathering voices/information from the branches to further improve regional management framework/structure

  • Planning and implementing initiatives to penetrating regional strategy to each transaction and customer relationship

  • Lead data driven analysis, summarise complex issues, anticipate and recognise the root causes of problems, and apply problem solving and solutions across the region

  • Gather, synthesize, and creatively analyze data to provide insights, identify issues and arrive at recommendations

  • Look to increase governance framework in APAC for both business promotion and 1st line of defense

  • Develop Executive-level materials for key meetings

  • Lead engagement with the external vendors to bring in the best-in-class marketing tools into GCIB APAC business

  • Collaborate with GCIB Planning Division in the headquarter in Tokyo to feed in the bank-wide updated policies as well as business related procedural changes into APAC region

  • Support division and department to drive improvement in the process and operational efficiency

  • Lead and work cohesively with the team. Adaptable to work with various departments and people and influence stakeholders

  • Promote MUFG and team culture, and foster team collaboration

Job requirements

  • Degree qualified

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in banking and financial industry

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience of business / credit planning/strategy in corporate banking

  • Demonstrate strategic planning and business management with independent and strong problem-solving skills

  • Skills to build up framework and generating ideas for initiatives for business promotion

  • Strong analytical and presentation skills with the ability to use Excel and PPT

  • Program management experience with financial background

  • Assimilates broad-ranging information quickly and able to distil into key points

  • Ability to synthesize information to formulate a “story” for Senior Management

  • Exceptional analytical skills to understand a diverse array of programs and complex end-to-end workflows

  • Business proficiency in written, reading and spoken Japanese as role requires liaising with Tokyo HQ on corporate matters is a plus but not mandatory.
