MUFG Vice President, IT Application Lead – Payments in Singapore

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate for the position of IT Application Lead who can oversee and lead the team within Information Technology Department under Asian Systems Office.

The successful candidate will be part of a growing dynamic regional team that in charge of Regional Payment System. This is a critical system that processes all the domestic payments received from our corporate customers in this region. You will be expected to play an important role in ensuring good quality, timely delivery of the system solutions. You will also be involved in the regional cross-border system implementation and this will need hands-on experience in this domain.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the business units and manage the business requirements considering the system’s impact, cost and the schedule

  • Lead the solutioning for the payment’s systems rollout following a regional approach liaising with the business stakeholders and other technology teams

  • Control the risks/issues related to the requirements and scope creep

  • Manage the relevant teams including vendors to investigate reported issues/problem, identify root cause/impact, implement workaround and fixes to resolve issues

  • Oversee the outstanding defects/change requests, prioritize with business units and plan for the fix or implementation

  • Ensure the application availability to process payments without disruption from an end-to-end perspective.

  • Play a key role during incidents to look at service restoration and remediation activities to ensure all payments are recovered and processed within the stipulated SLA’s

  • Liaise with the different technology teams on the application and infrastructure side to ensure all interfaces to internal and external systems are functioning without disruption

  • Manage the resources including the offshore test team based on demand considering the current/upcoming projects and BAUs.

  • Maintain up to date knowledge based or documents related to application features and processes (subject matter expertise)

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in payment systems for APAC domestic and cross-border payments

  • Experience in end-to-end payment processing in the region and the architecture of systems from payment origination to processing and settlement in an STP environment.

  • Experience in regulatory considerations in the countries in APAC region for payments is essential.

  • Excellent Knowledge of ISO20022 payment standard and SWIFT messages

  • Qualifications in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field

  • 12 to 15 Years of experience with specialization on Payment systems implementation, with exposure to methodologies and frameworks for business analysis

  • Experience with TCS Bancs Payments product would be an advantage

  • Familiar with project management fundamentals and change management processes

  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Strong planning, organizational and time management skills

  • Self-motivated and possess drive, and ability to work independently and a good team player

  • Experience in software development lifecycle (SDLC) and exposure to Agile methodology

  • Knowledge in Java/J2EE platform, Oracle DB, SQL, Unix/Linux, IBM WAS (would be a plus)
