About the role:

In your role as Analyst, you will play a key role in the Oceania Portfolio team which sits within GCIB, responsible for the ongoing risk management of the structured Real Estate Financing portfolio in Australia together with other analytical support work in other sectors. As part of this role the Analyst will also support the on-boarding of new names in the book.

This is a new role, designed to support the growth of our Real Estate franchise which has more than doubled in recent years, and will continue to grow, as we uptier our relationship with MUFG local and regional Real Estate customers.

More broadly. the role fits within Portfolio who play a lead role in pursing the Bank’s risk / return targets through (a) conducting credit reviews and monitoring in accordance with the Bank’s internal procedures; and (b) delivering on a number of strategic and balance sheet focused tasks / assessments.

What you’ll be doing:

Account Management:

The Analyst will be responsible for supporting credit analysis across a portfolio of clients with a focus on credit quality monitoring and the achievement of the Bank’s risk / return targets through:

  • Conducting annual credit reviews and internal rating reviews

  • Covenant compliance monitoring

  • Supporting refinancing and other revenue initiatives across the portfolio

  • Coordinating within the MUFG network

  • Client interactions on tasks required for on-boarding and account management

  • Any other required tasks in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures and required to support the broader Real Estate business

Portfolio Management:

  • Support the portfolio team in the management of the real estate portfolio, including a focus on sector risk / return and other strategic review processes

  • Supports the ongoing management and growth of the real estate business through ongoing care and maintenance of the real estate portfolio (including both corporate clients and structured Real Estate financing)

What we are looking for:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a major domestic bank or chartered accounting firm. Candidates from credit rating agencies, investment banks, investment management firms clearly also have relevant skills and are likely to be considered

  • Business / Commerce / Law Degree

  • Proficiency in the full suite of core Microsoft products, and will be strong in financial modelling

  • Possess an understanding of financial and economic markets

  • Be able to engage in independent research & analysis of customers and markets and apply critical thinking and a high level of attention to detail

  • The ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally
