Job responsibilities:

The AVP role within the market risk management department will be in charge of Providing risk assessment to underwriting transactions by Asia Investment Banking Division. Review and challenge of on-going transactions. Generation of daily reports of reporting and analysis of the underwriting positions. Assisting and performing reporting of PnL and risk data generation and analysis, monitoring market risk activities undertaken by Global Markets (Trading) and Treasury (ALM). The scope of products includes Rates & FX swaps, CCS, Options, and Bonds etc.

[Marketable Credit Risk – 90%]

  • Prepare daily and periodic reports of Underwriting business transactions

  • Monitor and review the various thresholds and limits set for Notional, Underwriting Period, Loss limits.

  • Track the Early Warning Indicator (EWI) and monitor the movement of the EWI

  • Organize regular/Ad-hoc meetings with other stakeholders in the bank to get updates on new developments in Head office and other regions, on the pipeline transactions and any other underwriting related matters

  • Support the team in preparing the Risk assessment sheet on a quick turnaround by reviewing the application document, participating in the discussions with front office team members and collating data and relevant information in preparing risk commentary

  • Support the team in maintaining and reviewing the documentation (like Policy and Procedure) related to UW business from Risk perspective.

  • Review and Challenge front office team members to enhance the overall risk framework from the second line of defence perspective

[Product control – 10%]

  • Prepare daily, monthly and other periodic risk reports and provide PnL analysis for the bank’s trading and treasury portfolio;

  • Monitor and check utilization of market risk (e.g. VaR, Pv01) limits, credit limits and marketable credit limits;

  • Perform market conduct check for the traders/dealers;

  • Capturing market data and ensuring integrity and accuracy of the data before uploading into front systems for Asia and Oceania region

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Econmics or related fields

  • At least 3 years working experience in Credit Risk or Investment Banking

  • Good knowledge of banking and derivatives products

  • CFA or FRM certification is desirable but not must

  • Good knowledge of Excel, Word and Powerpoint

  • Good initiative and inter-personal skills, ability to work efficiently in a team and independently

  • Good communication skills (both verbal & writing) with colleagues in Singapore and regional branch
