Job Summary:

Reporting to the Global Financial Crimes Manager, this role supports compliance and risk mitigation solutions, by executing assigned processes as directed by their manager

The Global Financial Crimes Associate collaborates with a team of compliance professionals in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements associated with anti-money laundering, international sanctions, and adherence to the Bank’s OFAC Global Standards.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsible for executing assigned tasks and activities focused on systemic compliance with global BSA/AML/Sanctions programs

Responsible for development and implementation of assigned tasks and processes

Manages data accuracy for assigned processes and procedures

Analytical and procedural expert for assigned deliverables

Coordinate risk based activities to review current sanctions compliance effectiveness, which may include: training, process design improvements, plan development and execution, testing controls and/or monitoring and incorporating regulatory expectations

Participate in project plan to address remediation efforts and testing review findings, to include process updates, documentation and training

Execute assigned tasks related to project plan to address remediation efforts and testing review findings, to include process updates, documentation and training

May monitor related regulatory developments, enforcement actions and industry developments, as assigned

May identify trends, patterns and sanctioned related themes in compliance testing and internal reviews

Track and review the sufficiency of action plans to address remediation and effectiveness review findings, as assigned

May collaborate with stakeholders in coordinating testing, training and effectiveness review plans

Education, Licensure, Year of Experience (and type of work experience):

  • 3 to 5 years of experience within the financial services industry, specific to global risk and financial crimes

  • OFAC sanctions experience a plus

  • BA/BS Degree preferred

  • ACAMS designation a plus

  • Understanding of sanctions compliance laws and regulations, applicable to international sanctions programs

  • Experience investigating compliance processes, performing compliance testing, training, quality control/assurance processes, and internal/external audits

  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • General Knowledge of sanctions compliance laws and regulations

  • Understanding of banking products and processes as they relate to sanctions controls

  • Excellent judgement and analytical skills

  • Excellent oral/ written communication skills

  • Attention to detail and process oriented

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to execute and develop project plans, as assigned
