Specific Responsibilities

Main purpose of the role

  • Enable the CFO to effectively undertake their responsibilities and ensure smooth running of the Finance Division, working closely with the CFO, core team members and wider stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

  • The Business Manager to the CFO will have oversight of how the Finance business is run, including financial control, resource planning, governance and management information. The function will also enable the business to achieve its strategic goals through development and execution of the Finance business plan including associated change management.

Key responsibilities

  • Support preparation for meetings (including governance forums) through developing and contributing ideas towards meeting materials, including strategy presentations, committee papers and employee communications (in collaboration with corporate communications).

  • Ensuring key processes are run efficiently to deliver quality and reliable information, to support the firm’s business growth and control procedures. Developing and integrating these processes with the equivalents in each entity to deliver a first-class EMEA team. Where necessary, support collaboration with stakeholders to ensure key actions are delivered within required timeframes.

  • Supervise budgeting and personnel management for the department to include tracking and monitoring progress against plans and budgets.

  • Provide Management Information to senior members of the Finance department, and to other parts of the group on Finance matters. Work with the Finance leadership team to develop a Finance MI pack including key concerns, achievements, plans and key control/risk/performance indicators.

  • CFO support to include assistance in the following areas:

  • Development of the strategy for the Finance function.

  • Develop robust business plans to ensure the Finance function is able to meet and respond to new business plans, changing regulatory requirements and volume shifts.

  • Documentation and execution of responsibilities under the Senior Manager's Regime.

  • Create and execute a communications strategy.

  • Managing workload to ensure timely responses to initiatives‎/delegation of tasks.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationship with other functions and stakeholders:

  • Work in partnership with Finance specialists across the region and globally to share best practice, provide support and develop effective appropriate policies

  • Build relationships throughout MUFG to establish a peer network, gather relevant information and help to ensure effective inter-departmental collaboration.

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand industry best practice, influence change and promote operational credibility.

Controls & Compliance

You will ensure compliance with the Firm’s internal risk and compliance requirements, controls and procedures including but not limited to:

· You shall conduct yourself at all times in a way which is commensurate with the Firm’s values and ensure that the needs of the Firm’s clients and the integrity of the market are placed at the heart of the carrying out of your duties and ensure any staff under your responsibility are conducting themselves as industry professionals and in accordance with policy guidelines.

· Take reasonable measures to remain aware of key market and regulatory developments and, where necessary, attend training in this regard.

· Comply with, ensure that all staff under your responsibility (where applicable) comply with, the Company’s policies and procedures as well as all rules, laws and regulatory requirements emanating from any of the regulatory authorities to which the Firm is subject;

· Carry out management responsibilities (where applicable) in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures ensuring that all staff are fully trained and understand what is required of them in order to do their jobs effectively. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: providing job descriptions and setting objectives/personal development plans for, and performing performance appraisals of, staff at least twice a year, handling appropriately any grievance or disciplinary issues, liaising with the Human Resources Department where appropriate.
