Job Summary:

Reporting to a Claims Operations Manager, the Settlement and Ops Specialist is responsible for daily reconciliation and settlement of Visa (vendor), Automated Clearing House (ACH) files and adjustment entries using FirstData (vendor) systems and reports. Monitor various FirstData and Visa reports for charge off reporting and processing various types of rejects. Responsible for maintaining updates to Bank policy with FirstData. Work with business partners and vendors to provide regular status updates including reporting and issue escalation.

Major Responsibilities:

60% - Network Settlement/Various Operational Reconciliations

Responsible for performing daily reconciliation of settlement, ACH filed and adjustment entries using FirstData systems and reports. Monitor and resolve rejects daily. Work directly with FirstData to resolve, problem solve and support operations. Assist internal Quality Control group with quality control review of vendor services to ensure service level and Regulation Z requirements are met. Partner with business unit managers and FirstData vendor to understand the needs and current processes of the unit to update the Bank policy with FirstData standards and procedures. Assist with team training needs and escalated problem resolution as needed.

30% - Operational Support

Conduct necessary research and resolve all out of balance conditions within established service levels and process eIBC’s in accordance to procedures and Bank policy. Refer any unusual or potentially suspicious activity for regulatory compliance review. Work with business partners with issue escalation. May participate in projects, and assist other areas in the department. Other duties as assigned.

10% - Reporting

Create and deliver related reporting to management and business partners.

Qualifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent education

  • Minimum 3+ years banking experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of general ledger balancing and reconciliation

  • Basic understanding of Visa processing preferred

  • Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills, attention to detail/accuracy, and flexibility in work assignments

  • Excellent decision making skills that demonstrate flexibility, and resourcefulness
